If it is stopping at about 80%, it is a sign of a new MBR infection going around. Let's see if we can figure out what is going on with this. I checked to see if it were running in the background and there was nothing in Processes of the Task Manager and no log files in C:/Adware. I tried to run adware and although it showed the home screen it would close immediately. I rebooted and began the Malware removal process in this forum. I uninstalled and reinstalled (ran as administrator) and it still wouldn't open. It said to open the Malwarebyte app to take action. It ran in the background and said I had malware that need to be cleaned. Upon reboot, I tried to run Malwarebyte from the system try. I then ran a full scan, and after a day and an half, it scanned a 1,658,000 files, I finally cancelled it and rebooted the computer. ![]() I ran a quick scan using Norton Security and found nothing. I'm running windows 10 Home Version 1709 Build 16229.192. ![]() I'd click ok and another would pop up, behind the pop up the PDF had already opened. When I opened a PDF I'd get a few pop up screens saying the application couldn't run. If anyone could help me sort this out so I can resume installing the monthly updates I would greatly appreciate it.I downloaded Acrobat Reader DC a couple of days ago and started to experience a lot of issues with slowness, missing text and the like. I have attached the SFCFis log and a screenshot of the command prompt screen showing the error installing the latest monthly update. I am at a loss as to what to do next so I'm reaching out here for help. I then tried to run the SFCFix tool found here and it too found no errors. I then tried running DISM and it found no errors. Keep in mind this is a headless server so I cannot boot into safe mode or from the Windows installation DVD. To try and remedy this issue myself I first tired to run SFC and it told me that it found corruption but was unable to fix it (I have been getting that error for a while now but it hasn't been causing any issues up until this point). I was running extremely low on disk space on the Windows partition prior to this so that may have had something to do with it. This started after I attempted to install the July 2021 updates and after rebooting my server sat on the "Loading the Windows Modules Installer" screen for about 8 hours. I am unable to install monthly updates and have been for 2 months.
